CHUCK AND CHASE CHALLENGE
Toss a ball by hand or with a Chuck-it from behind the start line toward one of the three target circles. Your dog must retrieve the ball
from inside one of the targets, or step into one of the targets while carrying the ball, and return it to the start line to score a point.
Three tosses/challenge in three minutes. Team that scores the most points wins.

HOT DOG ON A SPOON: The object of this game is to see if you can be the first team (you and your dog)
to complete the course without dropping your hotdog off the spoon.
LURE COURSE: Your dog follows an automatic lure.
HOT DOG BOBBING: Like apple bobbing but it is your dog and some hot dogs.
SMOOCH THE POOCH: Get a big wet kiss from Juice, a wonderful black lab.
DOG TRIVIA CONTEST: Get the most right answers to 20 questions scattered around the event area, and you win.

- Waffles at Wanoga is a weather-dependent event at our Wanoga dog-skiing area that happens about once a month - watch for announcements in our newsletter or on Facebook.
- Race for the River - Grab your paddle-boards, canoes, kayaks, rafts, floaties, friends and dogs to support the Deschutes River Conservancy by participating in the annual Race for the River in Riverbend Park. All participants racing with their dog will receive a Ruff Wear Float Coat as part of their entry fee.
- XTERRA Trail Run Nationals Plus, in celebrated XTERRA championship style, there will be an XTERRA K9 Challenge for owners and their dogs
- Great Nordeen Ski Classic is a celebration of Central Oregon ski history! There is a category for a 15km Skijoring, and a 15km ski with your dog class.
- The Downtown Bend Octoberfest Wiener Dog Race, had spectators packed down Minnesota Ave and on the rock outcropping below the Phoenix Inn. The 54 Wiener Dog Race competitors sprinted down the 75 foot track down Minnesota. Racers and spectators had a great time.
- The AttaBoy 300 Sled Dog Race is one of the very few stage stop races in the world. For this reason, it is an excellent event for spectators. Unlike traditional dog sled races where spectators are able to witness the start and then the finish – after several days; this particular dog sled race consists of a whole race being completed each day. The race has seven stages and is in total 300 miles long. The race is part of the World Cup racing circuit where mushers acquire points based on their finishes in sanctioned World Cup races.
When: An early January event, Where: Mt Bachelor, Fees: Free for folks to watch. entry prices vary Details: The AttaBoy 300 Sled Dog Race is run on seven consecutive days and spectators can cross country ski or snowshoe to many viewing locations to watch the teams of dogs as they pass. Generally, the race takes place in January, but it is best to check with the local events schedule to determine when the race will be run each year.
- Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration & Pet Parade... If you are looking for a special way to celebrate July 4th, start the day with Bend's most historical event, the Pet Parade, where children of all ages bring their special pet (mostly dogs - large & small, but there are also llamas, horses, lizards, goats, and lots of stuffed animals) to parade through downtown Bend. It's one of the most unique parades you'll ever see! Decorating and lineup starts at 9:30am and the parade begins at 10am. No registration necessary. No rabbits or cats please. Kids will receive a keepsake and popsicle.
- High Desert Search Dogs Canine Carnival Watch dog demos – Rally, Obedience, Therapy, Search & Rescue, Lure coursing. Agility, Draft/Carting, Scootering – even participate in some! Star puppy – fun contests with prizes. Puppy piddle bingo, lure course heat race, costume, best voice, musical sits/downs, owner lookalikes, celeb lookalikes and more, Vendors, raffle, first aid presentation. All proceeds benefit High Desert Search Dogs.
- Free Summer Sunday Concerts @ Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend’s Old Mill District. This is a family friendly event and dogs are allowed.
